‘My War of Ideas’
“Chay Coulbert Served for 7 years in the Royal Marines Commandos and completed 2 tours of Afghanistan with the Special Forces Support Group, suffering a life changing injury at the end of his second tour. Tasked with gathering intelligence Chay was able to have many conversations with village elders and Taliban sympathisers throughout Helmand province. Chay has a great passion for philosophy and can provide a powerful insight into the ideas that drove him to war, the ideas his enemy fought for and the ideas which pushed him through his recovery and still drive him today.”

It was good to see a local family at the Sports Field today, taking advantage of perfect kite-flying weather. Great idea for the school holidays…
The first Paw Party dog walk took place tonight and was a great success! Thanks to all who took part. It was an enjoyable experience for humans and canines alike. Keep an eye on the Calendar for more Paw Party events – the next walk is on Tuesday 24th July.
Not long now till our first Group Dog Walk from outside the Saracen’s Head to the Sports Field. We hope the walks will be a regular event and we’re planning to hold them once a fortnight. The first walk will be on Tuesday 10th July and is planned to start at 7pm, although we might delay the start a bit if the weather is still very warm. Keep an eye on this blog, or the Calendar on this website for details. Water will be available at the field and we’re hoping to have some doggy paddling pools too.
We also hope to hold a Paw Party Event at the field on Saturday 2nd September. This will have a “Scrufts Dog Show”, fun and games plus food and drink.
We hope you can join us – you don’t even need a dog – all are welcome.
